Homes are designed to produce services to meet the needs of emotionally disturbed youth who are in need of a community-based family style group home treatment. The program provides trained instructors to provide youth with supervision, training, and instruction aimed at correcting emotional disturbances so that self-sufficiency is achieved.

Charlotte Rescue Mission provides an intensive chemical dependence recovery program for homeless or about to become homeless men and women. Its chemical dependence recovery program is offered free of charge. During the 90-day program, clients are able to strengthen their physical condition and learn about their addictions. Our goal is to address the spiritual, physical, emotional, social and educational issues of addiction with each person and return them as contributing members of society.

Begun by a partnership of center city churches and businesses to care for the most needy and vulnerable among us, the Urban Ministry Center is now supported by over 280 organizations and congregations of many faiths and denominations and over 600 individuals. Our many ministries include St. Peter's Soup Kitchen and Room In The Inn, a congregation-based winter shelter.  The Urban Ministry Center programs seek to serve not only those in need but those who wish to serve those in need. Our programs include St. Peter's Soup Kitchen, which serves lunch 365 days a year to an average of 200 people per day. Our Room in the Inn program, which provides winter shelter to our neighbors who are homeless utilizes over 100 congregations and 2 colleges and provides shelter for almost 900 people.

Established in 1975 by the religious community, Crisis Assistance Ministry is a nonprofit agency that provides individuals and families in Mecklenburg County with eviction prevention, basic household necessities and support.  96% of all private donations to Crisis Assistance Ministry are used to help pay rent and utility bills. This is possible due to the funding we receive from United Way and Mecklenburg County to fund our administrative and program operating expenses.

The Family Center is solely dedicated to eliminating child abuse and neglect, so that every child is valued, nurtured and kept safe. The Family Center provides prevention, intervention, education and treatment programs aimed at eliminating child abuse and neglect.  We provide these services in our agency, in local schools, in our residential home for profoundly abused children and at our 624 acre camp. Our mission is to break the cycle of abuse and neglect, to reclaim life, to reclaim joy. The Family Center is truly a place Where Hope Grows.

Love INC exists to mobilize the Church, of all denominations, to reach out to serve the poor, elderly and disabled. Love INC partners with over 160 churches, of 23 denominations. It provides a means for volunteers in those churches to serve their surrounding community in physical as well as spiritual ways. Services such as transportation, housecleaning, yard work, food delivery, furniture and appliance donations, wheelchair ramp construction and much more are provided by Love INC church volunteers.
